Your Monday Maintenance Tip: Pay Attention to the Lights on your Dashboard Panel

https://encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQ1oBxATtRQmK8fcAJQFhAtmVcPGBgUvNXk0Kfakpo_9jhsWaMl
Every time you start your car they glow to greet you, but after a few seconds of engine operation they fade away - hopefully not to be seen again until the next engine start. But motorists should heed their car's cry for attention and be aware of the red and yellow indicators on the instrument panel that illuminate to let you know when a problem occurs.  The critical - 'big three' - warning lights are those that monitor engine oil pressure, engine coolant temperature, and the vehicle charging system. To reduce the chances of vehicle damage and/or a roadside breakdown, these warning lights require prompt and proper action when they illuminate.

On my prev review, I gave this business a hands down NO in customer service, so I wrote a review and the dealership called me up and wanted a chance to redeem themselves and put me with a different sales asscoiate that they felt would better represent me, and I thought to come back for a second try, and i must say the really did impress me. they worked hard to satisfy my needs and to sell me a car I truly like, without my payment being to out of my range. Would I recommend this dealership....ummmm yeah I would. #Igotagreatcar

Hyundai HCD-14 named Best Concept by Autoweek at 2013 NAIAS

Today at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, Autoweek editors recognized the Hyundai HCD-14 Genesis Concept as the “Best Concept” in its 2013 NAIAS Editors' Choice Awards. HCD-14 beat out the BMW 4-series and Ford Atlas in the Autoweek voting process.
“The HCD-14, the latest in Hyundai's long line of conceptual offerings, could eventually become the next Genesis sedan in production guise – and that would take the Korean automaker to yet another level of sophistication in styling as well as technological prowess,” said Autoweek editors.
“You look at this elegant sedan and say, 'That's a Hyundai?' This is a gorgeous concept car,” adds Davey G. Johnson, senior online editor, Autoweek.

This year at NAIAS, Autoweek editors voted on 59 Detroit Auto Show vehicle reveals, choosing a Best in Show, a Best Concept, a Most Significant and a Most Fun vehicle. For a look at all the picks, visit: http://www.autoweek.com/article/20130116/DETROIT/130119879.

“We instilled the HCD-14 Genesis with a premium-sport 4-door coupe road presence,” said Christopher Chapman, chief designer, Hyundai Design North America. “It has a sleek and lightweight silhouette and inside, a driver-centric cockpit prioritizes dramatic sculpture and safety over infotainment button overload. HCD-14 Genesis gives a hint of the spiritual direction we can imagine for our premium lineup, and an indication of the focus we’re placing on the intuitive and instinctual relationship between driver and machine.

HCD-14 Genesis features state-of-the-art driver eye-tracking and hand-gesture recognition, thumb controls or gesture recognition used to select navigation, infotainment, audio, HVAC, and smartphone connectivity functions. A windshield heads-up display (HUD) provides minimal driving distraction and the concept’s powertrain features Hyundai Tau® V8 engine with direct injection and Dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing (D-CVVT).

Your Monday Maintenance Tip: Touch up nicks sooner rather than later

Touch-up paint won’t adhere well to rust. So be sure to keep some matching touch-up paint on hand so you can touch up any minor nicks, often found around door edges, before rust has a chance to form.

Hyundai and Rhys Millen Racing Renew Partnership to Defend 2012 World Record

Hyundai today announced its renewed partnership with Rhys Millen Racing (RMR) to defend its 2012 world record in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (PPIHC). This years’ race to the internationally-renowned summit is planned for June 30. This year, Hyundai will expand its presence at Pikes Peak with a two-car effort, with Millen piloting a new, purpose-built unlimited class rear-drive racecar joined by the production-based Genesis Coupe that set last years’ all-time record to the peak (9:46.164).

2013 Hyundai/RMR Pikes Peak International Hill Climb – Unlimited Class Racecar
“We’re certainly proud to renew our successful partnership with Rhys Millen Racing to take on the unique challenge of international motorsports known as Pikes Peak,” said Steve Shannon, vice president, marketing, Hyundai Motor America. “Last year’s all-time world record, set by Millen in the production-based Genesis Coupe, was a defining milestone in Hyundai’s quest to build thrilling and durable rear-drive performance vehicles that are as capable on the road as they are in the rigors of competitive motorsport.”

TWO-CAR EFFORT

For 2013’s effort, Millen will produce and drive an all-new, ultra-lightweight, purpose-built racecar using major powertrain components from Hyundai’s production-based Lambda engine family. This powertrain is expected to produce over 900 h.p. and 800 ft. lbs. of torque, while still making significant use of production components including the block, cylinder heads, bearings and engine accessories. The racecar chassis will be enveloped by a Genesis Coupe-like silhouette to compete in the unlimited class. This no-holds-barred racer will be accompanied by last years’ world-record-setting, production-based Genesis Coupe in the Time Attack 2WD class. The driver of the Genesis Coupe will be announced at a later date. RMR is a truly unique racing firm, one of the very few which successfully conceptualizes, fabricates, tests, tunes, and most importantly, drives its vehicles in motorsports competition. In fact, the world-record-setting Genesis Coupe is the exact same production-based coupe that Millen successfully drifted in the Formula Drift competitive series, a testament to both the extreme durability of Hyundai engineering as well as the tuning versatility of the RMR team.

Your Monday Maintenance Tip: Checking your oil level

It's quick and easy to tell if your engine needs oil. Just park on level ground and wait until the engine has cooled down after driving, then locate the dipstick. Pull it out and wipe it clean, then push it all the way back in until the top of it is seated properly in the dip tube again. Wait a moment then pull it out again. Check the level of the oil. If it's between the high and low marks, you're fine. (If it's too low, add a little.) The high and low marks can be denoted by two dots, an "H" and "L" or a shaded area on the dipstick.
