Checking the automatic transmission fluid is another vital item on the car maintenance checklist. Look for a reservoir marked ATF (automatic transmission fluid) and follow the same steps as monitoring the oil level – only this time, with the engine running. Follow manufacturer’s recommendations for change intervals, about every 30,000 miles.

Two Hyundai models named "Best Bets" by The Car Book
The 2013 Sonata and Santa Fe Honored for Exceeding Customer Expectations

Your Monday Maintenance Tip: Brake fluid is hygroscopic. This means it is adept at attracting moisture. Moisture causes components to corrode and fail. Replace fluid and bleed system once a year. Brake fluid is cheap. Calipers, hoses, and sensors are expensive.

scheduled service appointment and got what I asked for. Brought my 2009
Genesis in and was immediately greeted by service rep. Jason Richardson.
He expected me and went out of his way to process the car and arrange
for a loaner in a very expeditious and friendly manner. He called me
later in the day to let me know that the car was ready. When I picked it
up, he personally took the trouble to assure that all I expected was
done - and checked things out himself ! A great experience with the
service folks here!!!

Three Hyundai Models Awarded 5-Year Cost To Own Accolade by KBB.com
Three Hyundai models, the 2013 Veloster, 2013 Veloster Turbo, and 2013 Sonata, received Kelley Blue Book’s KBB.com’s coveted “5-Year Cost to Own Award.” Each vehicle was found to have the lowest cost of ownership over the initial 5-year ownership period, compared to any other car in their category. The 2013 Veloster won in the Compact Car Segment, the 2013 Veloster Turbo took first place in the Sporty Compact category, and 2013 Sonata bested competitors such as the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry to take the top spot in the Mid-Size Car segment. The awards will be presented to Hyundai at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show on February 7.
“The 5-Year Cost to Own Awards honor the vehicles and brands, both luxury and non-luxury, with the lowest projected ownership costs,” said Dan Ingle, vice president of vehicle valuations for Kelley Blue Book. “Highly competitive pricing and lower depreciation costs provide Hyundai’s vehicle line-up with a notable advantage. Kelley Blue Book’s 5-Year Cost to Own Award accounts for nearly all expenses of car ownership, including depreciation, expected fuel costs, finance and insurance fees, maintenance and repair costs, and state fees for new models. The awards exist to help shoppers make more informed new-car buying decisions by breaking down typical ownership cost details and naming the brands and models with the lower projected five-year total.
