Mets and Hyundai reach multi-year partnership for Hyundai Club a Citi Field

The New York Mets and Hyundai Motor America today announced a multi-year partnership for naming rights to the Hyundai Club at Citi Field, putting the spotlight on the Hyundai brand in the New York area as it continues to launch new vehicles and attract more customers.
 http://hyundainews.com/media/images/Low/_1_1.aspx
The Hyundai Club, formerly known as the Champions Club, is an all-inclusive premium seating area located on the field level behind home plate with 660 seats spanning to the dugouts. The gourmet buffet includes a daily chef selection of carved meats and pasta and unlimited non-alcoholic beverages. A selection of peanuts, popcorn, fresh baked cookies and ice cream are also available.
Hyundai will have the exclusive right to showcase one of its vehicles on the Field Level concourse in front of the club for all 81 games. The multi-year agreement is an expansion of a partnership that began last year with an outfield sign and presence on SNY.

“Citi Field provides a great venue to showcase an award-winning Hyundai line-up that continues to get even stronger,” said Ken Bloech, General Manager for Hyundai Motor America’s Eastern Region. “Over the course of the season, we look forward to having Mets’ fans enjoy games from the comfort of the Hyundai Club. We’ll also be displaying a range of vehicles from an all-new, three-row Santa Fe that’s perfect for families to a redesigned Equus sedan that delivers a higher level of refinement for the luxury segment.”

“We are proud to grow our relationship with Hyundai to including branding rights for one of the premiere seating locations at Citi Field,” said Dave Howard, Executive Vice President Business Operations. “Hyundai is the latest partner to join us for what will be an exciting All-Star season for Mets fans.”

Your Monday Maintenance Tip: Exterior Cleaning Tips

 http://freakwheel.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/new-hyundai-azera-brown.jpg

It’s easy to keep your Hyundai in impeccable condition. Pay heed to these tips to help keep the exterior of your vehicle shining all year round below.
  • Wash your car in the shade. This keeps your car cool while you work, reducing water spots.
  • Rinse first and wash from the top down.
  • Use a clean terry cloth towel for washing and drying.
  • Washing your car is not the same as cleaning the paint. Cleaning and polishing the paint removes oxidation, smoothes the surface, and restores shine.

Mr. Kim was very helpful and professional. We would recommend him to others. My only complaint is that when we tried to call three times the week after the sale to ask a question and try to find somehting left in our old vehicle, nobody returned our calls.

I've been coming to Fairfax Hyundai since I purchased my 2010 Elantra and service and sales are just out of this world. I just traded in my 2010 Elantra for the 2013 and the process was just great. Denise was just wonderful to work with and Alex and Jae were just awsome also. I always get uneasy when it comes to a making a decision like this and the team work of all involved just made things a lot easier. From the purchase to the service that follows, you won't go wrong with Fairfax Hyundai.

Hyundai announces winners of "Center Stage Powered by Grammy Amplifier"

 http://hyundainews.com/media/images/Low/38273_1_1.aspx?key=4fbbdd13-2efa-4a10-b27f-9497d3f5c359
Hyundai today announced the winners from its “Center Stage Powered By GRAMMY® Amplifier” program at the Sound Cloud Event in Austin, Texas. Gentlemen Hall, Phillip Magnus Hartley and Barnaby Saints will each receive one of the following: a recording session with a leading GRAMMY producer, production of a music video with a noted producer and/or director, or an opening act performance slot on a major tour or music festival. Additionally, an online video series documenting each of the recording artists’ mentoring experiences will be produced for the GRAMMY website and launched later this year.

“Center Stage” is part of Hyundai’s multi-year partnership as the “Official Vehicle Partner” of the GRAMMY Awards®. Hyundai teamed with The Recording Academy® this year to create an innovative online platform designed to provide professional mentoring and exposure for artists discovered and amplified through the GRAMMY’s innovative GRAMMY Amplifier program.
Mike Shinoda, member of two-time GRAMMY winning band Linkin Park, served as curator for “Center Stage,” which was developed based on the success of GRAMMY Amplifier. Launched by The Recording Academy in January, GRAMMY Amplifier allows musicians to share their tracks via SoundCloud for a chance to have their music shared online by a panel of musical icons.

“Hyundai would like to thank everyone who participated in the initial launch of the ‘Center Stage’ program,” said Steve Shannon, vice president, marketing, Hyundai Motor America. “We can’t wait for the world to enjoy the great music of Gentlemen Hall, Phillip Magnus Hartley and Barnaby Saints and we look forward to following them on their musical journeys.”

Barnaby Saints is a Los Angeles-based band, started by singer/songwriter Erich Lennig. The band has been described as a mixture of bluegrass, gospel, indie rock and layered harmonies. Their songs fuse old folk story telling with lush vocals, banjo, fiddle, dobro and swelling B3 organ to create a unique soundscape.

Gentlemen Hall’s music is a combination of the high-handed anthemic choruses of the Killers, the retro synth melodies of MGMT, and a dash of wildman flutist antics. Hailing from Boston, the six members of Gentleman Hall are currently finishing their full length album which is due out in 2013.
Phillip Magnus Hartley is a hybrid artist from Baltimore. He is influenced by all genres of music, drawing inspiration from Janelle Monae, Brandy, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Prince, and Kenna. Hartley combines street style art with the fine arts, creating a unique style and a unique sound.

Hyundai Unveils Upgraded i20 WRC at Geneva

  • New specification Hyundai i20 WRC launched atGenevamarks another important step in team development schedule
  • Latest spec includes upgrades to aerodynamics, chassis and suspension to improve cooling, enhance suspension kinematics and chassis stiffness
  • Development of Alzenau facility is proceeding rapidly and to plan with focus on key staff recruitment
  • Private testing of i20 will begin later in the year at various locations inEurope

Hyundai Motorsport GmbH has taken another significant step towards its forthcoming participation in the FIA World Rally Championship with the unveiling of its latest specification i20 WRC car at the Geneva Motor Show today.

Hyundai is gearing up for its debut season in the challenging FIA World Rally Championship in 2014 with a year of private testing and development as it progresses towards a competition-ready WRC-specification of its i20 model. A first iteration of the car made its debut at the Paris Motor Show back in September but this latest model incorporates notable updates to the exterior bodywork and suspension. The upgrades are the result of collaborative work between Hyundai’s R&D facility inNamyang,Koreaand the newly formed Hyundai Motorsport GmbH inAlzenau,Germany, headed up by veteran WRC man Michel Nandan.

The new specification Hyundai i20 WRC also reveals a striking look thanks to a redesigned livery which blends a dynamic treatment of Hyundai’s corporate blue together with an innovative use of characters from the native Korean script, Hunminjeongeum. The livery matches the excitement and dynamism of WRC with the Korean heritage of the Hyundai brand.

In the two months since his appointment, Team Principal Michel Nandan has focused on establishing the core Hyundai WRC team at the bespoke facility in Alzenau with key technical, logistics and motorsport specialists joining the new manufacturer team. The team will soon be embarking on a more intensive test programme with the i20 WRC to ramp up development of the car ahead of its maiden season.

Hyundai Motorsport Team Principal, Michel Nandan commented: “We are still in the infancy of our exciting WRC programme so the development curve for the car and team is steep. This latest version of the i20 WRC have centred on aerodynamics with the objective of improving the car’s cooling systems. A new rear wing and front spoiler give the i20 WRC a new external appearance while, under the bodywork, improvements have also been made to the suspension kinematics and chassis stiffness as we gear up for a more structured test programme later in the year. We have lots of important foundations to lay both with the car and the team at Alzenau.

“Building up a new motorsport facility from scratch is an ambitious and rewarding challenge. We have begun the recruitment process but already have a number of key people in place who bring with them a wealth of rally and motorsport experience. We are rapidly building up the team infrastructure and are pleased that everything is running to schedule.

“Hyundai has returned to the World Rally stage to demonstrate its technical capabilities on one of the world’s most competitive stages. Our ultimate goal is to be victorious but we know that we have a lot of tough competition ahead of us. We will use this year to lay the solid foundations but hope to advance quickly as 2014 approaches.”

Hyundai America reports best-ever February sales

 http://hyundainews.com/media/images/Low/_1_1.aspx
Hyundai Motor America announced an all-time February sales record of 52,311 units; up two percent over last year’s all-time record February and up a similar amount for the year.

“February was another record month for Hyundai – we had a terrific President’s Day weekend event to kick off the spring selling season, much improved inventory levels, and great access to credit available to a broader band of buyers,” said Dave Zuchowski, executive vice president of sales. “Our performance was led by the all-new Santa Fe and the award winning Elantra, both of which saw double-digit sales gains over 2012.”

The all-new Santa Fe saw a huge 64 percent increase over the same period last year and is up 42 percent year-to-date. The Elantra, which was recognized as a “top car pick” as best budget car by a highly regarded consumer magazine earlier this week, posted year-over-year gains for February of 17 percent and is up 15 percent for the year. Sales to rental accounts and government agencies accounted for 15 percent of the February volume.

Hyundai Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) vehicles also recorded a best-ever volume month with 5,627 sales, up nine percent versus 2012. Full year CPO volume of 11,020 units is up 12 percent versus 2012.

“Our biggest-ever Super Bowl and Academy Awards presence drove great interest in the Hyundai brand, especially the all-new Santa Fe. The all-new seven-passenger version of the Santa Fe will begin hitting showrooms shortly after our media introduction this month, adding to the strength of our crossover line-up,” said John Krafcik, president and CEO, Hyundai Motor America. Santa Fe was recently recognized by U.S. News and World Report as the “Best 3-Row Midsize SUV for the Money.”

Your Monday Maintenance Tip: Go for the shade

 https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQ_mVi-7TsxlvegEa_vrOcLw4nKQUNoUmAAurPd7XQVEWeAyAefkQ

The hot summer sun that makes the inside of your car feel like a sauna also zaps fuel from your gas tank. If you let your car bake in the sun there's going to be a greater amount of evaporative emissions that take place than if you park in the shade. So park your car in the shade of a building or tree whenever possible. And buy a good windshield shade. A windshield shade blocks sunlight and helps to keep heat out of the inside of your car.

"Best car service experience I've ever had," says J. Evans on Google!

Best car service experience I've ever had. I tried this place out for the first time and was thoroughly impressed. I love that the "check-in" process takes place inside a garage that has automatic doors. So, even if it's raining, you're not going to get wet at all because you're covered at all times. There were ample people available to check me in, so I didn't have to wait at all. Their guest lounge is huge. Plenty of room for people to sit. Lots of chairs and TVs. Free drinks. I asked one lady where the restroom was. Instead of pointing me in a certain direction, she put down the paperwork she was working on and personally walked me to the other side of the garage to the restroom. Talk about going above and beyond. I love that when your car is ready, they come to you in the guest lounge and sit with you to go over every issue with your car. Alixandra was great; she even named off 5 nearby places I could go for lunch as I wait for my car. I'm making this my official car service place.
